About
Hi! My name is Lauren Luke and I am a Special Education Teacher from Bucks County, Pennsylvania. I graduated in January 2016 from Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ with a bachelor’s degree in English and Elementary Education with an endorsement in Special Education. I am certified to teach English Language Learners and have been trained in the Orton Gillingham Approach for students with Dyslexia. After graduating in 2016, I moved to California, where I taught in Los Angeles County as a K-5 Resource Teacher for 3 years. In 2019, I decided to move back to Pennsylvania to be with my family and friends and continued teaching as a K-5 Learning Support Teacher. In 2021, I started my own tutoring business to work with students struggling with reading and writing, never thinking it would become my full-time job! I now run my own private tutoring business and work full-time as a private reading and writing tutor, serving students in Bucks County and Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. I am also fortunate enough to work with students from all over the country using online learning. This is my 8th year teaching and I absolutely LOVE it.
Throughout my time as a classroom teacher and a private tutor, I have taught a diverse group of students in grades K-10 with specific learning disabilities, autism, other health impairments, speech and language impairments, emotional disturbances, and non-compliant behaviors. During this experience, I have become skilled at differentiating instruction, planning multi-sensory lessons, developing and implementing IEPs, and collaborating with parents and colleagues on a daily basis. I have not only obtained the skills needed in order to provide accessible instruction to every student, but I have also gained the knowledge necessary to create a safe and engaging learning environment that allows all students to feel confident, motivated, and successful.
